Felicia Gonzalez, originally from Las Cruces, New Mexico, joined Athlete Training + Health in 2017 and serves as a Performance Coach. Felicia assists with development, implementation and supervision of program design for Student Athletes and Forever Athletes. She currently works with outsourcing contracts including private schools such as Grace Preparatory Academy.

Formerly, Felicia has had experience in the high school setting, college institution and private sector. Her most recent came from Jesuit College in Dallas where she assisted the strength and conditioning department with over 150+ athletes during the summer of 2017. During that time, Felicia worked as a High-Performance Coach at Greenhill School in Addison aiding with the design and implementation for all sports. Previously to her getting involved with High School Strength and Conditioning, in 2016 she served as a full-time assistant at Oakland University where she designed programs for Women’s Basketball and Soccer, Softball, Cross Country, Track and Field and Cheerleading. Prior to arriving in Rochester, Michigan, she was a strength and conditioning fellow at the University of Michigan who served under Bo Sandoval and Mike Favre. Between 2010-2014, Felicia volunteered her time as an intern in the strength and conditioning department for the University of Texas at San Antonio, Texas State University and the United States Fort Bliss.

Felicia earned her bachelor’s degree in Spanish at New Mexico State University in 2009 and shortly after, went on to complete her master’s degree in Exercise Sport Science at Texas State University. During the completion of both undergraduate and graduate degrees, she competed in both Olympic Weightlifting and Powerlifting. She placed first in the New Mexico Games for Olympic Weightlifting, was named best female lifter overall at the Manno Classic in Mesa, Arizona, has broken American records with N.A.S.A Powerlifting, and still holds the bench press record with N.A.S.A. in her weight class. She is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist through the National Strength and Conditioning Association and is a Level One Sports Performance Coach through USA Weightlifting. Felicia resides in Carrollton with her husband,  Fernando, loves spending time with family, watching a good movie, and drinking a nicely brewed cup of coffee.
