Monica Smith was born in St. Louis, Missouri, but spent the majority of her life in Arkansas. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology and Nutrition from Ouachita Baptist University in 2014, and her Masters in Kinesiology from Texas A&M Corpus Christi in 2017. She joined Athlete Training and Health in 2016 as a Member Service representative in Houston, where she supervised performance evaluations, outreach and member retention. After being a part of the North Houston team for almost three years, she took a leap of faith and relocated to the Arlington, TX facility to start her new position as the Member Services Director. With the Arlington, TX facility relocating to Allen, TX, Monica transitioned to the new location and assumed the role of Operations Support Coordinator. Her duties have expanded to overseeing the internal processes for all of the ATH locations and taking over operational projects when her skills are needed. Her goal is to continue expanding her knowledge and skill set to one day transition into a business development role.
Monica’s love for sports and business software is evident as her days can be spent watching basketball, baseball, or football while simultaneously designing programs for ATH. Smiles, positivity and Disney flow through Monica’s veins. Her views on life are “You must not let anyone define your limits because of where you come from. Your only limit is your soul.” — Ratatouille and “There’s a great big beautiful tomorrow shining at the end of every day.” ⎯ Walt Disney. Being part of a team environment comes naturally to Monica, and at the end of the day, you won’t leave the facility without a friendly conversation or a high five from her.
