Position Summary

As a Performance Coach, your primary role will be coaching of the Student and Forever Athlete populations. Depending on experience and skill set opportunities may arise to work with Next Level, Rebuild and Team athlete populations, as experience grows, performance coaches may be given additional responsibility within other training programs. A major educational component of a Performance Coach is completing the Athlete Training and Health internship and mentorship program developed in partnership with Auckland University of Technology, New Zealand (AUT) and other leading experts in the field. Coaches will be continuously evaluated on the educational content and development of leadership skills during this process. Although coaching is the primary emphasis of the mentorship, performance coaches will be required to perform various performance administrative duties to enhance the training center, its staff and training philosophy.

 

Primary Responsibilities:

Coaching

  •   Responsible for coaching and implementing the ATH training philosophy directly with athletes in the Student, Forever and Team Athlete Training Programs. Assist the senior performance coach in Next Level and Rebuild Athlete initiatives. Provide 1:1 training sessions for Student and Forever Athletes.

Development of Training Programs and Education (Internal)

  •   Work with the Senior Performance Coaches to assist and implement ATH training philosophy  within Student and Forever Athlete Training Programs (evaluations, attendance, programming).
  •   Complete the ATH Internship and Mentorship programs.

Performance Administration (External)

  •   Assist in the collection and reporting of specific metrics related to ATH training programs as delegated by Senior Performance Coaches.
  •   Athlete Retention initiatives related to ATH Training Programs (i.e. calls and emails related to training progress reporting).

Training Center Advancement

  •   Assist on community outreach initiatives with member services, sales, marketing and operations related to the ATH Training Programs.

  

Qualification and Experience:

  • BA/BS – Exercise science, sports science, kinesiology or health-related degree.
    • Preferred Master’s degree in exercise science, sports science, kinesiology or health-related field.
  • Minimum of 1-2 years coaching experience including at least 1 structured internship. 
  • Competency to judge exercises and use discretion in the development of exercise prescription.
  • Strong level of IT skills to use various applications, technologies and software ranging from administrative (Microsoft office) to sporting technologies and software.

Personal Circumstances:

  • The successful candidate must be willing to work extended hours including early morning, evening and some Saturdays and Sundays (location specific). 
  • The successful candidate must have authorization to work within the USA.
