Antwan Floyd
All together, Floyd brings 24 years of coaching experience at the collegiate and professional level. Working with numerous sports, both male and female. Floyd is currently training youth in the South Houston/Pearland area as the Athletic Performance Director for Athlete Training and Health which is an affiliate of the Memorial Hermann hospital system.
Floyd was previously a Strength and Conditioning Assistant for the Houston Rockets; Director of Strength and Conditioning for the Houston Sabercats; Director of Performance Systems at Athlete Training and Health; and Director of Speed, Strength and Conditioning at Coastal Carolina University. Before then he served two years as the Associate Director of Sports Performance at the University of Houston. During his two years with the Cougars, Floyd’s responsibilities included training the football and cross-country programs as well as assisting in all aspects of the Cougar Sports Performance Department.
Prior to working at the University of Houston, Floyd served as the Associate Director of Strength and Conditioning at the University of Missouri where he was responsible for graduate assistant development, facilities, and community outreach. Other responsibilities included assisting with the player development program for the Missouri football team, helping former Tigers prepare for the NFL upon completion of their eligibility and being directly responsible for the Missouri track team’s sprinters, hurdlers, jumpers and multis.
During his time at Missouri he fulfilled his graduate school requirements and received his master’s degree from the College of Education and Counseling Psychology in May 2004. He earned a Bachelor’s of Science in Exercise Physiology and interned while playing football at the University of Wyoming from 1997 – 2002.
Floyd is recognized nationally as a Master Strength and Conditioning Coach (MSCC) through the Collegiate Strength and Conditioning Coaches Association and is a Registered Strength and Conditioning Coach with Distinction (RSCC*D) the National Strength and Conditioning Association.
Floyd lives in Houston with his lovely wife of 7 years, Shanna and his beautiful daughter Riley Floyd.
