Mark Pryer
Mark Pryer, originally from Lubbock, Texas joined Athlete Training and Health in the Fall of 2020 as the Applied Performance Coach, where he will be pursuing his PhD, studying sprinting and sports science. In August of 2021, Mark moved into the Senior Applied Performance coach role where he is focusing on projects that will impact company wide – such as programming all youth athlete speed training; working on research and education initiatives; and managing ATH’s various training technology platforms. Mark attended Texas Tech University where he earned his bachelor’s degree in exercise and sports science and masters in strength and conditioning. While finishing his undergraduate degree he worked with the Olympic sports strength and conditioning staff under Tory Stephens. During graduate school, Mark worked with the men’s basketball staff as a graduate assistant for three years.
After graduation, Mark moved to DFW and worked at a velocity sports performance location, followed by a transition to Michael Johnson Performance where he worked with youth, pro and elite level athletes. Highlights of his time at MJP include five NFL Combine classes, three gold medalist sprinters, one silver medal sprinter, multiple NFL 1st and 2nd round draft picks, pro bull riders from the PBR circuit, and multiple professional baseball players.
Mark currently lives in Allen, TX with his wife Tarin, and two dogs Molly and Zoe.
