Brooks Barron, originally from Birmingham, Alabama, joined Athlete Training + Health in 2017 and serves as the Athletic Performance Manager for the South location. He is primarily responsible for the overall productivity for the South location as well as trains the Rebuild and Next Level ATHletes. These responsibilities include continuing relationships with Houston Dynamo, Houston Sports Park, and enhancing staff development and growth.
He has been in the sports performance and strength and conditioning field for close to 20 years. Starting his strength and conditioning coaching career at Jacksonville State University as a Graduate Assistant after playing football there from 1995-2000. He continued his assent as a strength coach for high schools in Alabama and Georgia for over 10 years. In 2011 Brooks started his own sports performance company and continued success until moving to Houston in 2017. While running his own business he worked with EXOS as a contractor with the NFLPA. Through his experience he has coached many Olympic hopefuls as well as several SEC and NFL athletes. Brooks was appointed the Regional Director of American National Football Combines in Houston, Texas in 2019.
Brooks has earned three degrees from Jacksonville State University in Education. He has held his Certification in Strength and Conditioning (CSCS) USA Weightlifting (USAW) Functional Movement Systems (FMS) USA Track and Field (USATF) as well as several other continuing educational advancements in the sports performance fields for well over 10 years. He has several accomplishments like being on the Alabama state advisory board of the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA) and winning the Birmingham’s Best Business before moving to Houston, Texas.
